Missed Me?

Hey Poptropicans!

Sorry for not being around much. School has totally bogged me down and lately, I haven't felt like posting on the Hideout. Sorry.

A lot has happened since I last posted in Poptropica. Well, Legendary Swords is now available for everyone with the FULL version. Then, Poptropolis Games just came out! It's not quite open for everyone yet but you can still play a demo if you are a non-member. (Team Seraphim! <3)

Then, there's also this old friend that seems to be coming back to Poptropica. Everyone knows him now a days. He first started as a book series favorite, then he released 2 movies, and has an island on Poptropica... You know who I'm talking about! It's Greg Heffley! (Not Greg Kinney Polychrome. ;-))

We'll get to see what news what he has to bring on Wednesday, May 30th (like said on the poster above.) Can't wait!

Sorry for not posting. I'll see if I can post more since it's summertime soon for me.

Poptropica Friends

Hey! Poptropica Friends is now out! As you have known, the hideout here has been predicting about what would be in store for the new feature. Well, now we know what we right or not!

How do you like the new feature? Do you like adding friends, photos, closet, quizzes, or something else? I honest love adding friends and also doing the quizzes. Can't wait to add you as a friend, (if I haven't already...)

PoptropicaQA: Poptropica Friends

(Host): Welcome to the debut of...POPTROPICAQA!
Here on PoptropicaQA, we have two contestants, and contestant A must try to stump contestant B with a question.  If successful, and contestant B cannot begin to answer within 10 seconds, contestant A wins!  If not, contestant B then tries to stump contestant A with a question.  If contestant A answers the question correctly within the given time, then contestant A becomes the winner!  Otherwise, I shall give both contestants a tie breaker question, and whichever contestant answer correctly first wins.  If at any point a contestant answers most of a question correctly but cannot answer it completely, then the opposing contestant will have to answer the missed part correctly in order for the contestant to be eliminated.
For our contestants today, please welcome...Speedy Wing!  Please welcome also...Cpt. Busy Seagull!

*Applause*

Our category today is: Poptropica Friends feature, and Busy Seagull will be starting with the first question.  Are you ready?
(Busy Seagull): I'm ready.
(Speedy Wing): Bring it on!
(Host): One...two...three!  BEGIN!

(Busy Seagull): What funtions will each button on a player's profile have?
(Speedy Wing): Oh, that's an easy one.  Look at the video the Poptropica creators provided, go to the 28 second mark, and pause it.  The first button is for island medallions.  The second is for what country the player lives in, as well as the particular region in that country, such as a state, where the player lives.  You can tell that because in the video, it shows an American flag with AK written in a little white box in the lower right corner.  AK stands for a state or region: Arkansas. The third is for photos, the fourth is for a costume closet, the fifth...I'm not sure..., the sixth is for checking on your friends, the seventh is for battle rankings, and the eighth is for membership.  If you look at the profile at other times in the video, these are the only buttons that remain constant.  Thus, they are the only default buttons.  The other buttons, as the video says at  26-29 seconds in, are created when you answer questions in another profile feature: the personality questionaire, which I am totally excited about!
(Host): You said you weren't sure what the fifth button is.  Cpt. Seagull, do you know?
(Busy Seagull): ...I can't say I do.
(Host): Congratulations Speedy Wing on moving on to the next round!  It is now your turn to ask a question.

(Speedy Wing): Will all Poptropicans have access to the closet?
(Busy Seagull): Yes!  The size of the closet, however, is a little different between members and non-members.  Members will have access to a closet that fits 30 different costumes.  On the other hand, non-members will not receive as large a closet, although the Poptropica creators have not mentioned how large their closet will be.  Also, Poptropicans will be able to share costumes from their closets.
(Host): Congratulations Busy Seagull on moving on to the final round!  I shall now ask the tie breaker question.  Whoever answers it first will become the winnner!

Q: Where will you now be able to access multiverse?
(Speedy Wing): Multiverse will be accessible through it's own page via a button that is in the upper left corner of the friends feature page.  It and the friends feature are both tied in together, but a player can switch between views with that link.

Seagull is coming to the Hideout!

I just came back from seeing one of the greatest seagulls on Earth! Here, I'll tell you a bit about it...

*yawn* That was quite a trip to come here. It will be totally worth it though! *looks around to find seagull.* Now where is that seagull...? Hey, look! A fellow Poptropican resident here at Fort Ridley! Maybe he can help me find that sea.

Poptropican: Welcome to Fort Ridley! Is there anything I can help with you today?

Yes in fact. Do you know where I can find seagull?

Poptropican: There are a plenty of seagulls here. Which one did you have in mind?

Well, I got this note from someone that was interested to come write for my Hideout. The picture was lost and the first part of the name got smudged before I could read it. So, I'm looking for a Poptropican here named Seagull.

Poptropican: Ah. You mean Captain Seagull!

I'm hiring a seaman to write for my Hideout?!

Poptropican: Not to worry, Miss. He is quite the gentleman and a great leader. In fact, you are of the presence of him right now.

Wait. You're telling me that YOU are Seagull? The Captain Seagull I've been looking for the whole time?

Poptropican: Yep. Captain Busy Seagull, at your service, Miss Wing.

So that concludes my journey to find, the Seagull. So, now I have another additional writer to the Hideout! His name is Busy Seagull, excuse me, Captain Busy Seagull and he has been on Poptropica since it came out. He his an extremely great writer (he even wrote an amazing story which I will post soon.) Busy is very kind and knowledgeable and I'm super excited for him to be our newest writer. I hope you all will enjoy him as much as I do! There is so much more but I think that's enough to reveal for now. I don't want you to know him that well.... yet....

Twisted Thicket and the Truth-o-Meter

This is surely not a surprise to every Poptropica Fan. Twisted Thicket will be available for members on April 12 and non-members May 2nd.

I am super excited for this island because there is going to be mystery and magic! What can be better? What scares me is, since the trees are twisted, does that mean the truth is too? I hope not because if so, it's going to be hard to solve this mystery. Either way, I- Speedy Wing- will solve the mystery and detect the truth with the lies! I wonder if it's a good time to... bring out the Truth-o-Meter!

Introducing, the top of the line Truth-o-Meter. It's even voice activated! Alright, just a quick test... My name is Bob.
Truth-o-Meter: Pants on Fire.
Okay... How about this... I have a pet panda.
Truth-o-Meter: Mostly True.
This thing is good! I'm totally going to be able to tell who's lying on Twisted Thicket island!
Truth-o-Meter: False.
Who asked for your opinion? Now that I think about it, this thing is way too big for me to carry around if I'm ever being chased by some strange creature.
Truth-o-Meter: Very True.
Be quiet. Hmm... this could really be a short cut for me to solving the mystery but... I don't want to die. Maybe I should-
Truth-o-Meter: False.
I didn't even say anything!
Truth-o-Meter: True.
I'm turning this off. Where's the off button on this thing?
Truth-o-Meter: False.
Okay! That's enough. *grabs hammer*

Sorry about that. The only way to turn it off was to... um, destroy it. So much for knowing who's telling the truth. I guess I'll just have to use my knowledge and skill. Well, see you around Poptropicans!
