Moving Sites

Hi everyone. Sorry for not posting here for awhile! It's been hard to manage two blogs lately with my life so to make it simplier for me, I'll be posting only on my other blog, Petpet's Room, from now on.

Now, don't worry about this blog. It will still be open for you to look at, I just won't be posting on here. Instead, I'll be posting on my other blog about my life along with Poptropica. (Kinda like a "2-in-1" thing.)

Right now, I'm currently "remodeling" my other blog so that Speedy Wing's Hideout can be part of Petpet's Room. (So my hideout is in my room!... Which is kinda true in real life...)

I'm sorry if you are disappointed but it will still be the same Speedy Wing's Hideout just at a new location and site name! So, visit here for the new location of Speedy Wing's Hideout!

Speedy Wing and Friends Collection: Steamworks Gadget Girl

This week's collection theme is, ADVENTURERS! Each day of the week, I will showcase one costume from the collection. Once they are all shared, I will have a poll to see which one is the most favored and you can get all the steps on how to create the costume.

Now, let's get started! Today's is Steamworks Gadget Girl.

I was bored on Steamworks island and I noticed how unique the clothing from that island was and how the colors coordinated. So, I created a Steamworks Gadget Girl. This is great for the epic battle against the plant monsters in Steamworks! All those mutant plant monsters will fear you, and won't even think about trying to mess with you again!

Look smart, adventurous, brave, and stylish out on the go! Gadget girls don't ever have to be called "nerds" or "geeks" again!

I have been thinking about this for awhile now. I usually don't create many costumes but lately, I've created tons. So soon, I will be showcasing some of my costumes here, at Speedy Wing's Hideout! They will be known as "The Speedy Wing and Friends Collection!"

Missed Me?

Hey Poptropicans!

Sorry for not being around much. School has totally bogged me down and lately, I haven't felt like posting on the Hideout. Sorry.

A lot has happened since I last posted in Poptropica. Well, Legendary Swords is now available for everyone with the FULL version. Then, Poptropolis Games just came out! It's not quite open for everyone yet but you can still play a demo if you are a non-member. (Team Seraphim! <3)

Then, there's also this old friend that seems to be coming back to Poptropica. Everyone knows him now a days. He first started as a book series favorite, then he released 2 movies, and has an island on Poptropica... You know who I'm talking about! It's Greg Heffley! (Not Greg Kinney Polychrome. ;-))

We'll get to see what news what he has to bring on Wednesday, May 30th (like said on the poster above.) Can't wait!

Sorry for not posting. I'll see if I can post more since it's summertime soon for me.

PoptropicaQA: Poptropica Friends

(Host): Welcome to the debut of...POPTROPICAQA!
Here on PoptropicaQA, we have two contestants, and contestant A must try to stump contestant B with a question.  If successful, and contestant B cannot begin to answer within 10 seconds, contestant A wins!  If not, contestant B then tries to stump contestant A with a question.  If contestant A answers the question correctly within the given time, then contestant A becomes the winner!  Otherwise, I shall give both contestants a tie breaker question, and whichever contestant answer correctly first wins.  If at any point a contestant answers most of a question correctly but cannot answer it completely, then the opposing contestant will have to answer the missed part correctly in order for the contestant to be eliminated.

Our category today is: Poptropica Friends feature, and Busy Seagull will be starting with the first question.  Are you ready?
(Busy Seagull): I'm ready.
(Speedy Wing): Bring it on!
(Host): One...two...three!  BEGIN!

(Busy Seagull): What funtions will each button on a player's profile have?
(Speedy Wing): Oh, that's an easy one.  Look at the video the Poptropica creators provided, go to the 28 second mark, and pause it.  The first button is for island medallions.  The second is for what country the player lives in, as well as the particular region in that country, such as a state, where the player lives.  You can tell that because in the video, it shows an American flag with AK written in a little white box in the lower right corner.  AK stands for a state or region: Arkansas. The third is for photos, the fourth is for a costume closet, the fifth...I'm not sure..., the sixth is for checking on your friends, the seventh is for battle rankings, and the eighth is for membership.  If you look at the profile at other times in the video, these are the only buttons that remain constant.  Thus, they are the only default buttons.  The other buttons, as the video says at  26-29 seconds in, are created when you answer questions in another profile feature: the personality questionaire, which I am totally excited about!
(Host): You said you weren't sure what the fifth button is.  Cpt. Seagull, do you know?
(Busy Seagull): ...I can't say I do.
(Host): Congratulations Speedy Wing on moving on to the next round!  It is now your turn to ask a question.

(Speedy Wing): Will all Poptropicans have access to the closet?
(Busy Seagull): Yes!  The size of the closet, however, is a little different between members and non-members.  Members will have access to a closet that fits 30 different costumes.  On the other hand, non-members will not receive as large a closet, although the Poptropica creators have not mentioned how large their closet will be.  Also, Poptropicans will be able to share costumes from their closets.
(Host): Congratulations Busy Seagull on moving on to the final round!  I shall now ask the tie breaker question.  Whoever answers it first will become the winnner!

Q: Where will you now be able to access multiverse?
(Speedy Wing): Multiverse will be accessible through it's own page via a button that is in the upper left corner of the friends feature page.  It and the friends feature are both tied in together, but a player can switch between views with that link.

Seagull is coming to the Hideout!

I just came back from seeing one of the greatest seagulls on Earth! Here, I'll tell you a bit about it...

*yawn* That was quite a trip to come here. It will be totally worth it though! *looks around to find seagull.* Now where is that seagull...? Hey, look! A fellow Poptropican resident here at Fort Ridley! Maybe he can help me find that sea.

Poptropican: Welcome to Fort Ridley! Is there anything I can help with you today?

Yes in fact. Do you know where I can find seagull?

Poptropican: There are a plenty of seagulls here. Which one did you have in mind?

Well, I got this note from someone that was interested to come write for my Hideout. The picture was lost and the first part of the name got smudged before I could read it. So, I'm looking for a Poptropican here named Seagull.

Poptropican: Ah. You mean Captain Seagull!

I'm hiring a seaman to write for my Hideout?!

Poptropican: Not to worry, Miss. He is quite the gentleman and a great leader. In fact, you are of the presence of him right now.

Wait. You're telling me that YOU are Seagull? The Captain Seagull I've been looking for the whole time?

So that concludes my journey to find, the Seagull. So, now I have another additional writer to the Hideout! His name is Busy Seagull, excuse me, Captain Busy Seagull and he has been on Poptropica since it came out. He his an extremely great writer (he even wrote an amazing story which I will post soon.) Busy is very kind and knowledgeable and I'm super excited for him to be our newest writer. I hope you all will enjoy him as much as I do! There is so much more but I think that's enough to reveal for now. I don't want you to know him that well.... yet....

Twisted Thicket and the Truth-o-Meter

This is surely not a surprise to every Poptropica Fan. Twisted Thicket will be available for members on April 12 and non-members May 2nd.

I am super excited for this island because there is going to be mystery and magic! What can be better? What scares me is, since the trees are twisted, does that mean the truth is too? I hope not because if so, it's going to be hard to solve this mystery. Either way, I- Speedy Wing- will solve the mystery and detect the truth with the lies! I wonder if it's a good time to... bring out the Truth-o-Meter!

Announcing Poptropica Friends!

We're thrilled to announce a new feature that's coming soon to Poptropica: Friends!

Soon you'll be able to make friends with the people you meet in Poptropica! You can follow their adventures in the game, and show off your own accomplishments. You'll create a unique personality profile to share with the world. When you play through Islands, you'll earn photos that mark your achievements in the game.

Members will have access to a costume closet that lets you store as many as 30 individual costumes! You'll find all this and more with Poptropica friends. Keep an eye out here for more information, including when you can start using these new features!

This is what I have been waiting for! Awhile back, I have posted about what I think the new upgrade was going to be. Click here to see my predictions. It turns out that many of my predictions were correct. I didn't really mention the buddies list very much but now, we know it's true and I'm glad for that!

Who nose what's new in Poptropica?

We're excited to announce the most groundbreaking, innovative feature in the history of Poptropica: Noses!

On Monday, we’ll be adding noses to every single character on Poptropica, whether you want one or not. Now, your Poptropican will be better than ever at sniffing out clues, stuffing the competition, and running up the score. Not since the introduction of the Costumizer or the removal of the Monster Carnival map icon have we made an update this momentous.

We hope you’re as excited as we are about this amazing new update. You will always remember April 1st as the day everything changed on Poptropica!

No need to run from these noses

Well, most of you caught our little April Fools' joke over the weekend. We aren't adding noses to Poptropicans. Everyone would look too weird!

But there was a grain of truth in our gag. Now, you can get a fake nose in the Poptropica Store!

Fortunately, these Poptropican noses are optional, not mandatory. So visit the Poptropica Store today to get your fake nose -- and get a jump on next year's April Fools' Day!

I was really scared about the noses there! Can you imagine it?! Me, Speedy Wing, with a nose?! Sure, I'd love to stop and smell the roses but probably not with those noses.

P.S. If I had an excuse, it was because I got bit by a vampire and couldn't come back to the hideout until someone would save me. (I am saved and I'm no longer a vampire so don't worry!)

Vampires are invading Poptropica!!!

Everyone... run for your lives!!! Poptropica is... Oh, um... hi! Sorry, I just came back from a very long trip- or should I say vacation from my hideout. So sorry for not coming back but now, here I am!

Well, that was relaxing but now I found out... Poptropica is cursed with vampires?! How in Poptropica did this happen?! Oh sure they are cool but first of all, blood. YUCK. What has become of Poptropica? I mean, first the ghosts were kinda scary but now, werewolves and vampires? Luckily, the hideout is located in Mythology and not those places- for now anyways...

Seems like this is the new island to look forward to. Seems like Vampires are a huge trend right now and Poptropica just had to follow. Oh well! I can't wait... well maybe I can wait, for this island. This is going to be interesting... I just hope it doesn't follow with the popular Twilight saga. (I'm sorry but I dispise the movies and books.)

Well, hopefully I don't get bitten before the island releases!

Cryptids Island Party

Today is the January 18th... which means that last year, Cryptids Island was released for everyone. Cryptids is actually one of my favorite islands... except for one part. (All those that have done the island, I think you know what I mean.) To celebrate the birthday, Poptropica Secrets Forum members and I threw a costume party where we wore our favorite costume from Cryptids Island.

An eccentric billionaire is promising a big reward to whoever can prove the existence of cryptids - hidden creatures. The hunt is on for Bigfoot, Nessie, and other legendary beasts. But watch out: you're not the only one in search of these monsters in this online virtual world - and your competitors will stop at nothing to find them!

If you haven't done the island already, get ready to find 4 of the mysterious creatures ever! I have to say, this was one of the most creative islands of Poptropica ever. Cryptids Island Tour

P.S. Before the party, I wanted to refresh my memory with what challenges I had to face during this island. Well, everything was kinda fuzzy so some parts, I had to "cheat" and look up how to do it. (These next parts are spoilers...) Remember when you saw the Jersey Devil in New Jersey? Well, I knew it was coming but when I saw the monsterous face, I almost screamed. Goes to show, even if you know it's coming, the Jersey Devil will always scare you. :-)

Costa Concordia= Titanic 100 years later

You have heard of the story of the Titanic. It was a great luxury cruise ship and it hit an iceberg, sunk, and many people died. Well, this is 100th anniversary since the Titanic sunk. (It sunk in 1912.) A hundred years... wow. Yesterday, it seemed like a similar incident happened. Costa Concordia, a luxury cruise ship, sunk tipped late Friday night. It is now agrounded. Of course, most of the passengers were saved and they have only found 3 dead so far but it sunk due to a crash to an obstacle.

I think this is a huge coincidence. Titanic sunk because of an obstacle then 100 years later, the same thing happened. I'm guessing this is going to happen for us on S.O.S. Island too... Wait. Since I'm still on the cruise... does that mean? (Click here if you don't know what I'm talking about.) Uh-oh. This is not going to end well.

Under construction

We're plugging away on a cool new feature for Poptropica that we will have ready for you soon. Here's another quick look.

Can you guess what it might be? We'll have all the details soon!


CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

If you look really closely, you can tell that the "friends" button has now CHANGED to your character. What I'm guessing is, that one, we finally can add other Poptropicans as friends or two... we have a lot more new features!! I checked out previous sneak peeks from the Daily Pop.

It seems like we are going to have new "icons" to replace the friends. The first "icon" would probably be were all your medallions go. Second, it looks like the Japanese Flag. I don't know what that is. "Photos..." Wait, PHOTOS?! That icon for photos looks familiar! It was posted in the sneak peeks many months ago. (I believe when Red Dragon Island was released.) Maybe on our adventures in Poptropica, each island will have different pictures. That would be awesome to keep those memories.

Closet.... Hmmm....

It looks like we are going to have more than one place for our costumes now! This is great because as a fashionista, I need more space to save costumes. This is perfect for hosting cosutme parties too! Looks like you can save a lot of costumes too... that's awesome.

The boxing gloves icon? Definitely common room battles! Golden star? That usually means Membership. Maybe what benefits? I don't know. Reality TV icon? *gasp* Yes! They changed it back! As you know, before the "restart islands button," you could play Reality TV again and again and get streaks. Many of my friends played Reality TV over and over when they were bored but once restart button came, they lost all progress! (I think one even got over 100 times!) I guess changing the streaks was a bad idea.

Ninja time! I think that one is a wallpaper icon. Poptropica is making wallpaper for your PC and that's what I'm guessing the icon is for. The last 3, I seriously don't know yet. If you are experiencing glitches, I hope you know why now. Also, if you don't see "Costume Costumizer" in the store, don't worry because closets will be coming soon!

S.O.S. Island

All aboard!

Oh hey! I'm just leaving the hideout for a moment to go on a cruise and whale watching. Hopefully, nothing happens but knowing me, trouble is always around the corner. Well, this upcoming island is "S.O.S" so I'm guessing trouble will strike. Oh well! I'll be here to save the day.

When a whale-watching expedition strikes an iceberg, a pleasure cruise becomes a disaster scene. As the ship sinks deeper and deeper into the frigid waters of the North Atlantic, can you rescue everyone on board before it's too late?

I don't remember reading that in the brochure!!! Get me off of this ship!

Sorry Ma'am. The ship has already took off. You'll love the watching the whales though.

This ship is going to sink though! *starts throwing fit and everyone starts staring*

Counterfeit Island Party

Hey everyone! Two years ago, Counterfeit Island was released on January 4th for everyone! This was one of my favorite islands so to celebrate it's 2nd birthday, I hosted a "Counterfeit Island Birthday Party." I have to say this wasn't the best party ever but it was fun.

If you haven't done Counterfeit Island, you should because it's really unique and there's a special Poptropican that is traveling around Poptropica now! What would you do to catch a criminal that trying to steal valuable art and replacing the real art with a "counterfeited" one? What I really like about this is it has a mystery.... or that you are trying to do is catch the art thief. If you need some help click here for a guide.

What did I like most about this island? The artwork! I used to be into art all the time but seeing all that was amazing because I've never seen them before. I also love the setting. It was fun learning a bit of French and I love the mimes on the island.*looks at sky to see a boy holding onto a balloon* Sorry. WAIT UP BALLOON BOY! *starts chasing after him*

Hey everyone! It's "The Wing" here! A couple of weeks ago, I told you guys about a Costume Battle Contest where we have 2 costumes similar to each other but with a few variations. Well, first one ever was the "Music Battle." You guys voted! The winner was... Pink and Black!
